Rocco has asked to learn about dinosaurs, so our learning today will be based on that. You can find out the names of some dinosaurs here and look closely at what they look like:

Phonics session (20 mins+)

Recap:

  • Write these words on cards twice. Shuffle them, turn them over and hunt for pairs by turning over two cards at once. If you got it wrong and they are not a pair, turn them back over but try and remember where they are!

Reading:

  • Play the game of Dinosaur Guess Who. Click on the leaf to reveal the clue and see if you guess right. You get 3 chances to get it.
  • Challenge: Can you read these sentences and try to work out which dinosaur it might be? Use the pictures to help give you clues.
  • Here is a word search to help you remember some of the new dinosaur names we have learnt!

Writing:

  • Parents, you can choose to work on more letters which your child struggles with if you wish to and practise these until they know the correct letter formation. Aim to write a row for each letter during the week. 
  • Can you write a sentence about one or more of the dinosaurs? There are some words in the word bank that might help you with ideas and spelling.
  • Insert

Maths – number and addition problems (15 mins+)

  • Some of the greedy dinosaurs have eaten the numbers. Can you help and fill in the gaps?
  • Look carefully at the dinosaur I spy. Can you find all the dinosaurs that are the same type to complete the addition number sentences?
